When you don’t know anything about a GD topic

In today’s date almost every MNC prefers a candidate with good communication skills and check if she’s able to put forth her point of view in a room of people.

What a better way to judge than conducting a Group Discussion. But sometimes, unfortunately the topic of the GD is totally out of our knowledge. What to do then? You can’t just sit and loose the opportunity.

Here are some key points that can help you in such situations:

  • Relax
Get your breathe in place and stop stressing yourself.  It’s okay, not everyone knows about everything. Stop feeling guilty and slowly start thinking.
  • Patience is virtue.
Wait for initial few minutes to hear points of both sides ‘To and For.’ You’ll get an outline of the topic and what it’s about.
  • Analyze and build-up the points
Sometimes, the topic is quite simple. It’s just made sound complicated to confuse the candidates. After being patient, now it’s time to analyze and put the points forth.
  • Don’t lose your confidence
Sometimes a candidate is selected only for the confidence he possess. Don’t lose eye-contact with the person you’re talking to. Have that crisp in the voice.
  • Try to conclude
There are always extra points for concluding the GD.  Conclude on good notes maybe with a quote or a note of gratitude.

Keep these points in mind you’ll be good to go. All the best and slay with confidence.
