My heart goes out to every martyr of Pulwama and their families. What India witnessed on 14th Feb 2019 was extremely spine chilling and shocking. I really don’t want to discuss the mishappenings of this incident because by now, all of us might be aware of who did it, why it happened, who is to be blamed and all.
I want to talk about how I and maybe every Indian must be feeling about it right now.
I was reading a book named ‘An Indian spy in Pakistan’ by Mohanlal Bhaskar and casually checked my phone and came to know about the entire mishap. I was absolutely taken aback and didn’t understand how to feel about it.
I felt rage for the terrorists & against Pakistan for contributing to it, depressed for the martyrs & their families and eventually extremely vulnerable because of the helplessness of not being able to do anything about it.
Amidst all this, I recollected that Mr. Mohanlal has written in his book that he could survive the Pakistani torture chambers only because of the hope and help he received from fellow Pakistani prisoners and guards. So it’s not the people who are at fault but the high commission who take decisions based on a coin flip.
But the most important question is ‘Will things ever CHANGE?’ These things have been going on since 1947 and are becoming worse every day.
Now, I don’t wish for a revolutionary change that would bring peace, improve our relationship with Pakistan or make Kashmir a better place.
I just wish for change in the way the Indian army is perceived until now. Every single man who risks his life for the nation should have equal security as any government official.
The man who leaves behind his entire family without even thinking twice deserves utmost recognition and respect.
It’s high time now, Indians have already seen a lot of bloodshed of their soldiers. But not anymore, let’s all stand together for our army personnel. And the only way we can avenge this incident is by showing our unity.
Let us leave all the religious, political, oppositional fights behind and for once and show the world how to respond to terrorism.
Jai Hind.
