C2 was a beautiful female cat with brown and white patches. She lived in the chaos and fast-paced life of Pune city. Surviving from other city cats, stone pelting people, ferocious chasing dogs, C2 somehow reached an area called Viman nagar of Pune city. 

Viman nagar was the most peaceful, posh and sophisticated part of Pune. 

C2 fell in love with this place and decided to create her own little habitat in and around that area. Even though the challenge of dangerous dogs, huge tomcats and people still existed, C2 wanted to build her home in this area only. So she would fight off all the challenges and in the end, ensured not to leave the premises of Viman nagar. 

Hopping from residential societies to restaurants, cafes, grocery shops, and parks, C2 searched for the perfect place to build her home. 

One day she came across an old stand-alone building located in the far-end corner of Viman nagar. With huge green trees, perfect spots for sun-bathing and the amazing serenity, C2 decided to build her home in this building. 

She found a perfect spot under a broken car which was parked in this building’s parking lot. Hash, finally the house hunt had ended. C2 loved everything about this new place. The amazing supply of mice, the greenery, the cozy comfort of the car and the beautiful girl who called out to her from the top of the building with a ‘psss’ ‘psss’ sound upon seeing her. 

With such friendly people and amazing surroundings, C2 felt that this was ‘a place to be.’

But very little did C2 know about the ways of this funny world. Another male cat named Mr. Shy who lived in the same area one day spotted C2. Worried about losing his territory, Mr. Shy decided to shoo C2 away. With full power he ran behind C2 and as C2 reached the building entrance she bumped into a group of humans.

One among the group was the same beautiful girl who C2 saw everyday. Kate, the girl, immediately understood that something was wrong with C2’s vibe. 

She repeatedly made the ‘psss’ ‘psss’ sound to calm C2 down. And, in no time both Kate and C2 had realized that they knew each other. C2 got super comfortable around Kate and when Mr. Shy saw this, he thought it wasn’t the right time and left.

Kate rushed and got C2 some food and water. This was the first time C2 had gotten so close to a human being. For the next few days, it became a routine for Kate to go in the parking lot at 7 in the morning, feed C2, play with her and keep some food for her for the rest of the day.

C2 was having the time of her life. Looking in Kate’s eyes and seeing her laugh would made C2 purrr. Before meeting Kate, C2 didn’t even know that she could purr.. She loved the fact that she could purr.. She would relax and calm down in the vibrations of her own body.

But someone wasn’t liking this. The evil Mr. Shy saw that C2 was still hanging out in his territory and now was even getting free food. He also wanted free food. 

With doubled determination and focus, he decided to shoo away C2 for once and for all. After a lot of planning and cheap tricks, one day at 2 in the night Mr. Shy went to the broken car and started looking out for C2.

Upon finding her, he got his huge shiny claws out, and just when he was about to attack C2, C2 ran like a ninja and jumped out of the building boundary. 

Now all Mr. Shy had to do was keep C2 from entering the building. 

While C2 didn’t give up easily and tried almost everything to get inside the building, Mr. Shy protected the entrance like a solid rock. There was only one way left for C2 but to fight off Mr. Shy. And, she was too weak to get into a fight with such a huge tomcat. 

Days passed and all the tries of C2 were going in vain.

Here in the building, Kate started looking out for C2. She would go in the parking lot at 7 and make the ‘psss’ ‘psss’ sound hoping to see C2. 

It had been exactly 45 days and there was no trace of C2. 

While Kate never gave up looking for her, slowly the hope of C2 returning had started fading off.

Until one day, while Kate was in her room, writing something, she heard a ‘meow-meow sound. Wondering where it was coming from, Kate went out to check. When she followed the direction of sound she figured that it was coming from the parking lot. 

She hastily wore her chappals and rushed down. 

Upon reaching what she saw was just mind-boggling. C2 was sitting on the same spot where Kate used to feed her. But she looked very different now. She had become muscular, fierce, and had a strange look of “you don’t mess with me” on her face. 

It looked like she was training and exercising all this while to fight off Mr. Shy and get into the building. Well, looked like she had defeated Mr. Shy, marked her territory, and got her home back. 

Unable to withhold any further excitement Kate just hugged C2. It was the most awaited hug of the decade. After such a long time C2 had seen those sparkling eyes and beautiful laugh of Kate. Just looking in Kate’s eyes made C2 purr after almost a month.

By focusing on herself and exercising every day, C2 got food and the love that she was looking for all this while.
