The Bird Who Hated Humans

Once, a tiny bird built a nest in a tall, green tree. When her babies hatched, she loved them more than anything in the world. Every day, she worked hard to bring them food and keep them safe from harm.

But one day, she returned to a nightmare. The tree was gone. Humans had chopped it down, and her nest had disappeared with it. She panicked and searched everywhere among the fallen branches, but she couldn’t find them.

Heartbroken and furious, she retreated to a high wire. She stopped eating and refused to drink. As she looked down at the people below, she vowed never to trust them again. She believed they were all cruel destroyers.

Then, on the third morning, a miracle happened. She heard a faint, familiar chirp carried by the wind. She followed the sound to a nearby balcony and found a simple cardboard box. Inside, wrapped in a soft golden cloth, were her babies—safe and sound.

A young girl had found the fallen nest amidst the debris. She hadn’t walked away; she had gently picked them up, kept them warm, and waited for the mother to return.

The mother bird rushed to her little ones, overwhelmed with joy. In that moment, her anger vanished. She realized something profound: One human had destroyed her home, but another had saved her world.

We often judge an entire community by the hands that hurt, forgetting the hands that heal.
